Almost every call we get starts with the same question in some form: do I need a deep clean, or is a standard clean enough? The honest answer depends on when your home was last cleaned properly — but the difference between the two services is concrete, not marketing.
A standard clean covers what you see and use every day. Kitchen counters, sink, stovetop and appliance exteriors. Bathrooms — toilets, showers, tubs, sinks, mirrors — cleaned and sanitized. Floors vacuumed and mopped. Surfaces dusted, beds made, trash out. Done well and done regularly, that keeps a home at a level you never have to think about.
A deep clean is the reset underneath it. Baseboards and door frames, which collect a surprising amount in a few months. Switch plates and door handles. Vents, ceiling fans and light fixtures. Window sills and the tracks under the sashes, which almost nobody touches. Shower doors and tile where scale and soap scum have built into a film. Behind and under whatever can safely be moved — the refrigerator, the sofa, the nightstands.
Here's the practical rule we give people in Randolph, Denville and Morristown: if it's been more than three or four months since anyone cleaned past the surfaces, start with a deep clean. After that, a recurring standard clean on a weekly or biweekly schedule holds the house at that level, and you never need another deep clean unless something changes — a renovation, an illness, a long stretch away.
The pricing follows the labor. A deep clean takes substantially longer than a standard visit, so it costs more once. What it does is lower the cost of everything after it, because a maintained home takes less time to clean than a neglected one. That's why our recurring clients pay less per visit than one-time bookings.
There are a few situations where a deep clean isn't optional: before you list a house, after construction or renovation work, after a household illness, before hosting for a holiday, and any time you're moving in or out of a property. In those cases the standard is somebody else's inspection, not your own comfort.
